The Model 005 attaches to a host RS/6000 system single-ended SCSI adapter via SCSI cable. This is an external dual-port autoloader.
- Storage capacity (with data compression) up to 96 GB with the 12 cartridge magazine and up to 32GB with the 4-cartridge magazine
- Data transfer rate of 400 to 800 KB per second (typical with data compression)
- Capability to read and write DDS2 tape cartridges in either 2-GB or 4-GB format
- Media recognition system (the tape drive uses only data grade media) to ensure data reliability
