- Offers increased storage capacity per cartridge over the 7208 models 012 and 232.
- Provides Improved Data Recording Capacity (IDRC) effectively doubling data capacity and transfer rate.
- Uses the longer (160 meter) 8mm data cartridges in addition to 112 meter data cartridge.
- Is read/write compatible with 7208 models 002, 012, 232, and AS/400 Advanced Series feature
